Prof. Pascal Lorenz

Pascal Lorenz (SM’00) received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Nancy, Nancy, France, in 1990 and 1994, respectively. From 1990 and 1995, he was a Research Engineer with WorldFIP Europe and Alcatel-Alsthom. He has been a Professor with the University of Haute-Alsace, France, since 1995. He has authored or co-authored three books, three patents, and 200 international publications in refereed journals and conferences. His research interests include QoS, wireless networks, and high-speed networks. He was a Technical Editor of the IEEE Communications Magazine Editorial Board from 2000 to 2006, and the Chair of Vertical Issues in Communication Systems Technical Committee Cluster from 2008 to 2009, the Communications Systems Integration and Modeling Technical Committee from 2003 to 2009, and the Communications Software Technical Committee from 2008 to 2010. He has served as the Co-Program Chair of the IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference in 2012, the 2004 International Conference on Communications, and the 2017 International Conference on Communications, the Tutorial Chair of the 2013 Vehicular Technology Conference—Spring, and the IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference in 2010, the Track Chair of the Personal Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications in 2012, the Symposium Co-Chair at Globecom Conference from 2011 to 2007, International Conference on Communications from 2010 to 2008 and International Conference on Communications in 2014. He has served as the Co-Guest Editor for special issues of the IEEE Communications Magazine, Networks Magazine, Wireless Communications Magazine, Telecommunications Systems, and Lecture Notes in Computer Science. He is a fellow of the International Academy, Research and Industry Association and member of many international program committees. He has organized many conferences, chaired several technical sessions, and gave tutorials at major international conferences. He was the IEEE ComSoc Distinguished Lecturer Tour from 2013 to 2014.
